“Isn’t it? Luckily for me I just got a job so I don’t have to scavenge so much, still have to scavenge for certain things. Not so bad now though. Hey, who doesn’t like their cereal a little crunchier? It’s how I like it.

He sighed softly, pursing his lips a bit as he began to scratch between the large cat’s ears. 

“Yards… Have you thought about trimming it?”

Hugs purred loudly at the attention. “Oh, they hate that - eep!” Kisses bowled her over with a paw and began to lick her hair, and Alanna spluttered. “Pfft! We tried it once or twice, but merely brushing is easier for everyone.”

“Hate it?”

He watched as she was bowled over, and immediately took a step back, not wanting to suffer the same fate. Getting wet while in uniform, especially by saliva, was not something he enjoyed in the slightest. “Ah… So we have to brush it?"

“North Carolina? I haven’t been there before. And I’m here for Prep school. They want me to attend courses that I can’t take in Kansas.”

“It’s not that special, at least where I was from. Hick town, we were number one at teenage pregnancies for awhile. Special in a way, kind of. Prep school, that means you’re kind of smart then?” 

“Did no one teach sexual education at your schools? I may not completely understand sex or things of that nature, but that is a typical course at school, is it not?

That depends on your definition of smart. I’d like to think that I get by, but I’m mainly there for other reasons.”
